My wife renewed her license showing 485 receipt as the evidence. I think the PA DMV Manual says that if your AOS application is in progress , You can renew your license for 1 year. We did not need to show the EAD.

It would be interesting to split the poll as: Apr-May, June-July, Sept-Oct and Nov-Dec 05. I know there r not many between apr 05 and sept 05. but there is a lot in mar05 and sept to dec05 as labors under perm started clearing after sept 05.

We are a few hours away from the biggest Awards ceremony in Hollywood and the world. So what part do Immigrants play in the biggest show on earth? As Hollywood tries to stave off commercial stasis, the industry has been undergoing another chapter in its love affair with foreign writers and directors, particularly those from the Far East and Latin America. The international box office now accounts for more than 60% of a film's box office gross.
Of course, in this age of globalization, it's unclear what it even means to be a Hollywood immigrant anymore. "It doesn't matter where you live," says Paramount Classics chief John Lesher. "We all talk on the phone. We see each other at film festivals. You can edit a movie in Brazil, and your editor can be in London, and you can put it together seamlessly in perfect time."
So for Oscars 2010 we will not able to determine again who is an immigrant and who is not, an honestly who cares. What we want to know is who will win tonight.
For as lacking in suspense as the acting races are, the contest for the biggest prize couldn't be any closer. It's David vs. Goliath here, with 'Hurt Locker' and 'Avatar' seemingly trading "favorite" status every other day.
Unless they somehow split the votes and the Weinstein-backed 'Basterds' revises more history with an upset, the Oscar will go to either the highest-grossing Best Picture winner ever, or the lowest (in half a century, anyway). Be warned: This one is flip-a-coin close. Enjoy the Oscars tonight!!!!

Hi All,
I am attending my visa interview next week in one of the Indian consulate. Sometime back I came across a website which lists each persons interview date and there visa status - approved/denied. I am not able to re-collect that link
Does any one has any idea?. Basically that link shows the status of visa interviews conducted.

It is better and more meaningful to do yearly predictions rather than monthly predictions. This way, we will waste less time and atleast see the dates moving by a few days.

I received my EAD on 22nd July and in online status it still pending .Though I got to hard lud on my Wife's EAD " Card Production Ordered) . But my status still pending though I received the physical card

Can I donate 50$ as one time contribution by writing check on IV name and post it through USPS?
Please do not scold me for deciding to donate this much small amount.. My budget supports this much only at this moment.

Hi:
I have H1b renewed on the basis of pending AOS application (EB3 june04) till 2012 and also ead/ap based on my spouse's AOS application. I am going to India on a vacation soon for a month or two. Recently I have heard many horror stories that even stamped H1B is getting rejected in POE. My question is that if something like that happen to me at the POE can I invoke my unused EAD/AP and request entry based on that? The reason I don't want to simply go back is because I have a house here in USA and a mortgage that I continue to be paying to keep the house.

Never heard of anyone with proper papers getting into trouble (ie. the H1 is for a valid job, and in your case (where you are returning to continue employment) you have recent paystubs etc.
There were some rumors about people working for some body-shopping companies getting into trouble because they did not know who the client was, and what work they would do.
Check with a lawyer for the second part of your question, though my understanding is that you can still request to be admitted based on the pending 485 filed on your spouses job. The only kink is if your H1 entrance is denied because they suspect fraud, then I dont know how it plays out on the AP/EAD.

I don't have answer to your first question. But, I went to Matamoros, Mexico in May 2010 for visa stamping. I wouldn't suggest going to Mexico if you don't have a letter from Client specifying your role on the project with project duration. I was grilled for about 20mins even though I had client letter, w2's for last 5 years. I had to stay overnight in Mexico as they have problems with their printers and could notget the visa printing done the same day. Be prepared to stay in Mexico a day or two incase if you face the same situation.

Guru, I intend to seek your opinion/thoughts on some thing that is going on in mind.
I am working as a contractor for a Insurance Company. My GC process is started thru a desi consulting company. Priority date is Jun 2007 EB3 - India
The company is now offerring me to join them as permanent employee. They are saying they can help me with immigration.
My question is .. I dont understand how they can help me. I think the best they can do it apply as EB2 - India. (Which we heard recently is no better then my current EB3 India.)
Am I missing anything here ? Trying to make up my mind one way or the other (to accept this position or not.)

i was working with employer A (h1b tenure 2006---september 30 2009)...I applied for my extension and also transfer of h1b to company B..got h1b extension sucessfully from 09-2009 to 08/2012...
both the companies A and B are operated by same person..
I went for H1B stamping in november 2009 at Canada ottawa...in the mean time my employer has same adress for company A and company B..My employer has provided me a letter stating that company B has merged with company A so they have same address
The visa officer has found out that they share the same adress and questioned me what is the point of H1B transfer when they share the same adress and both the companies are merged and he refused my h1b visa..
My employer sugessted me to attend again the interview at the newdelhi consulate ..he has provided me the business license ,office land purchase documents and companies merging document...which i have submited to newdelhi consulate..
after 3 months the new delhi consulate sends me a visa denial letter
stating that
we are not able to issue you a visa because:
your petitioner doesnot either be able to provide qualified employment in USA
I129 petition filed on your behlaf has been submitted to USCIS...
My original I797 was returned to me at the time of interview

Well, my forms were returned to my attorney because of some filing issue. So instead of my EAD as I was expecting I have to refile. Of course I now have a job offer that I would like to take.
My husband (who is a US citizen) is in school and will be depending on my salary. I dont know if that counts as a big financial loss.
Where can I go to find this out. I think my attorney i doing a less than great job in giving me the proper options to choose from.
Any help would be appreciated.
