I have one Question.
How does it work, if I go to India to work for my company (same company which is into products development) for 6 months and then come back.
Currently I am on H1B, and I also have EAD/AP. I am a July 07 filer.
What will happen to my H1B in this absence when I'll not be paid in US, but as India office employee in India.
And can I just come back using EAD/AP, do I need a new H1B approval again (current one expires Apr 2011)
Will staying away from US create problems for my pending 485, or future EAD/AP approvals.

Yesterday USCIS announced officially that they need 1300 officers.
Their recruitment, training etc itself is going to take about 4-5 months.
So I am now guessing that it surely will take about 4 years for them to fix this big issue of retrogression and also hopefully someone increases the VISA numbers by then.
Closing this thread from my perspective since I have some good information.

i don't think anyone would be able to use first EAD filed during July/Aug time frame as I-140 itself will take more than 1 yr.. or longer who knows...money wasted on EAD.
Ok, this might seem like a really basic question considering most of you guys are at the guru level regarding these matters, but does your I-140 need to be approved before you can use your EAD? More importantly (as in my case), can I use my AP to travel if both my I-140 and I-485 are still pending?

Hi,
My wife's I-485 got a REF and I have received the alert. I have not received the actual document. When we went for medical exam in 2006, she was pregnant and one of the vaccine was not given. I am expecting the REF would ask for the remaining tests.
Right now my family is in Hyderabad, India. Is there any provision in Hyderabad to complete medical exam ? or I need to bring them back to US ?

Check the timeframe on RFE, some have 90 days (3 months), so you should have enough time to respond. It is advisable to visit the same doctor (since he/she has record of your original test).

Hello Friends,
My current passport is expiring in Jun 07. I have applied for passport renewal at Indian Embassy (Washington D.C.) in 3rd week of Jan 07 via courier. I may have to travel urgently to India by end of this month. Just wondering if anyone recently got their passport renewed at DC and what was the duration. It will help me to take the decision about departure date. Unfortunately DC is 5 hours drive from where I live. I am not sure even if take a day off and drive to DC to collect the passport they will even give it to me on the same day. Multiple attempts to contact DC office via phone/email were not helpful. No one picks the phone and their voice mail system is always full. Any advise on what I should to do know status of my passport renewal would be appreciated.

You should use Tatkal scheme. I paid extra 90$ and got the passport within 2 days. Its worth.

Jet airways is good. My parents are coming in May with Jet Airways. Lot of my friends has told that Jet is good with leg space and very good service. They specifically said about how friendly they are with elderly people coming travelling from India. The only issue is - they fly till Newark only. But when you book they can take to any city in US.
I just want to let you know that everyone who have used Jet airways has told very good about their international service. Opinions may differ with different people

Only thing you could avoid is long lay off. Service is excellent and indian food. In fact they have the indian spout in the toilets which is useful for elderly patients who require water in toilets for cleaning purposes.

I went to DMV in NJ with my EAD. They will give you the DL based on your EAD date.
don't worry about the H1 satus. DMV only check the document and enter the number in system. I hope this won't do anything to your satus. As i know.
Since i haven't received my H1 approval, i got to use the EAD in my case.

make sure you do the transfer to H1B to Company B before Company A revokes the I-140 to be on the safer side and get the 3 year extension. Then you could transfer the old PD on to your new GC you start with company B.

I found that EADs from NSC are being issued for filers until Aug13, as of now. I guess the processing time is like a week and half of the week, for every day. So you could be getting in 3 weeks.

Also, regarding this matter, how would I set this up if I wanted a rotate transform to happen to an Image object when a context menu item is clicked; not the image itself? I have been playing around with a setup in which I cast the sender as an Image and then using two If statements to check which context menu item was clicked. I will then apply either a clockwise or counter clockwise rotate transform based on which context menu item was clicked. The problem I am running into is how to write the condition for the If statement, undoubtedly due to my lack of C# experience. Employement history is on G-325. It is only for last 5 years. If it was before 5 years there is good chance that you need not answer that question. I-485 does not require your Tax returns. You can do that with your W2 forms.

Almost all visitors from most countries need to appear for visa interview before coming to the US. As for the question about the student niece, there are more formalities. DS-160 is the least of them. School must approve and issue a SEVIS form, you have to show lots of documentation to show you can financially support the student or she has funds. I know because I have my niece here who i have sponsored but she is in community college. I suspect for 8th grade to be even more strict. Check with US consulate for requirements of interview in your home country.
